No. 6 Houston and Lamar in lightning delay in 1st quarter

HOUSTON (AP) No. 6 Houston's game against Lamar on Saturday has been suspended because of lightning in the area.

The game was suspended at 11:36 a.m. with 3:13 remaining in the first quarter and Houston leading 7-0.

There was no rain at the stadium, but dark clouds surrounded it. The teams left the field and the video board in the stadium had a warning that advised fans to ''move to the concourse'' during the delay.

The game will be delayed for at least 30 minutes and could be extended if there is more lightning.
