Nation's top prospect considering joining fellow New Jersey native Guarantano in Knoxville

Being rated as the nation's number one prospect, Rashan Gary has every major program in the country currently knocking at his door. Gary's challenge now lies not in fielding offers, but in narrowing down his options to a select few.

One player offering his help is fellow New Jersey native and Tennessee commit quarterback Jarrett Guarantano. Gray spoke to Bleacher Report about his peer recruiting him to Knoxville, "I'm trying to go to Tennessee with Jarrett and a couple other guys." Gray added, "A lot of guys are trying to get me to go places, but that's one that stands out a bit."

Gray also sparked up a relationship with Tennessee's incoming five-star defensive tackle Kahlil McKenzie last season during a Nike football camp, the same camp in which McKenzie committed to the Volunteers. "I was asking Kahlil questions throughout The Opening because he was doing so good," Gray said. "He broke down a lot of stuff for me out there, so I definitely like him as a player."

The thought of teaming up McKenzie and Gray on the Tennessee defensive front could help mold the makings of an elite unit that could lead the Vols back to a SEC East title.

Gray expects to name his five finalists prior to the start of his senior season in the fall. If Tennessee continues to make an impression on the young linemen, expect the Vols to make the final list.
