Michigan Football: The Jim Harbaugh Booger Fiasco
You saw the video of Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh eating his own booger. It’s the biggest scandal Ann Arbor has seen in years.
The University of Michigan football program is riding high these days, with fans of the maize and blue, in some cases, even pondering a possible national championship run.
But there are some in the land of the Wolverines who are a little fearful of what might be in store for Michigan in light of the unfortunate recent scandal unfolding in Ann Arbor. Of course I’m talking about the controversy involving coach Jim Harbaugh’s booger.
Unless you’ve been out of the western hemisphere for the last several days, then you no doubt are aware of the incident in question. Late in Saturday’s game against Central Florida, Harbaugh appeared to nonchalantly pluck, or at least attempt to pluck, a small gem from his nose. To make what was already a bad close-up camera shot even worse, he then appeared to place the same two fingers that had just finished grazing his nostril into his mouth.
I’ll let you be the judge of just what happened.
I suppose any or all of the following could explain what was happening with the coach, as opposed to what the video evidence seems to show:
I don’t have the answer. But I think I know what a lot of Michigan fans are thinking—no—praying: Please tell me that eating a nasty booger is only grounds for a reprimand. Surely the NCAA won’t take scholarships away for this.
