Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin became “The Playmaker” during his stint at Miami in the 1980s, and now his son will have the chance to follow in his footsteps in Coral Gables.
Michael Irvin, Jr., a three-star tight end from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas, committed to the Hurricanes this afternoon.

Irvin Jr. is the no. 27 tight end in the 2016 class, per 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
