Marist 35, Bryant 10

Led by a pair of passing scores from quarterback Chuckie Looney, Marist knocked off Bryant 35-10 in each team's season debut Saturday.
Looney, who saw action in four games last year, entered the opener as the second true-junior captain in coach Jim Parady's 21 seasons, and didn't disappoint. He was 15-of-22 passing for 178 yards, orchestrating scoring drives of 83, 75 and 47 yards in the first half as the Red Foxes jumped to a 21-3 halftime lead.
Looney also bolstered the Marist ground game, scrambling 10 times for 92 yards. Calvin McCoy pitched in with 94 yards on 13 carries, and was one of three Red Foxes with a rushing score.
Bryant Mike Westerhaus was 19-of-39 passing for 212 yards in Bryant's first game as an official Football Championship Subdivision member. The Bulldogs spent the previous four seasons as a provisional member.
