''When I came to Louisville that I thought we could win a national championship, and we are building toward that goal with the success we had this season," Grantham said.

Louisville switched to a 3-4 alignment under Grantham and ranked in the top-10 nationally in several categories in his first season. The team was No. 1 with 26 interceptions and sixth with 308.5 yards allowed per game.

''We're very pleased and happy that Todd is going to be staying at the University of Louisville," head coach Bobby Petrino said.
