Jones, White lead Texas State over Louisiana-Monroe 16-3

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) Tyler Jones and Lawrence White connected for a pair of touchdown passes on Thursday night, and Texas State snapped a three-game losing streak with a 16-3 win over Louisiana-Monroe.

White had a career-high 83 yards receiving on five catches. He scored from 20 yards out in the second quarter to make it 10-3 and from 16 yards to cap the scoring in the fourth.

Robert Lowe ran 22 times for 85 yards to lead the ground game for Texas State (3-7, 2-4 Sun Belt Conference), which had 158 yards rushing.

Jones was 14 of 25 for 176 yards and no interceptions.

Craig Ford kicked a 28-yarder in the first quarter to make it 3-all, the only points for the Warhawks (1-10, 0-7), who lost their ninth straight.

Lumi Kaba opened the scoring for the Bobcats with a 23-yard field goal.
