Injury updates for Hansbrough, Boehm

Published Sep. 5, 2015 6:52 p.m. ET

Starting running back Russell Hansbrough and starting center Evan Boehm both left the season opener with sprained ankles. The severity to these injuries aren't yet known.

Boehm is arguably the most indispensable player within the Tigers' offense. The leader of the offensive line, he's been the virtual lynchpin in terms of setting the tone for the Mizzou ground game. Boehm is also one of the best players in the country at his position.

Hansbrough is the most dynamic player returning on offense for Gary Pinkel's squad. He led the Tigers in rushing yards (1,084) and touchdowns (10) a season ago.

Ish Witter and Tyler Hunt will man the running back position with Hansbrough sidelined, and an experienced option in Brad McNulty will fill in for Boehm.
