Hurley passes Delaware over Rhode Island 28-13

NEWARK, Del. (AP) Trent Hurley passed for three touchdowns to lead Delaware to a 28-13 victory over Rhode Island on Saturday.

Jalen Randolph gave the Blue Hens (5-4, 3-2 Colonial Athletic Association) their first touchdown with a 15-yard run in the first quarter. Hurley threw 24 yards to Michael Johnson and, in the second quarter, 13 yards to Diante Cherry for a 21-0 lead. Hurley's other touchdown pass play was a 44-yarder to Andrew Opoku in the third quarter.

Hurley finished 15 of 19 for 199 yards and an interception, moving to No. 2 on the Blue Hens' career list for completions with 513, trailing only Joe Flacco's 595. Wes Hills added 111 yards rushing.

The Rams (0-9, 0-5) have lost 13 straight games dating to last season. They closed to 21-13 on James Caparell's 27-yard touchdown pass to Ezra Holmes and Tim Wienclaw's return of a fumble before Hurley's final TD throw.
