
Georgia State hires veteran assistants Minter, McDonell

ATLANTA (AP) Rick Minter, the former Cincinnati coach and Philadelphia Eagles assistant, is Georgia State's new defensive line coach.
Minter was linebackers coach for the Eagles the last three years. He was 53-63-1 as Cincinnati's coach from 1994-2003, leading the Bearcats to four bowl berths.
Minter also has worked as a defensive coordinator at Notre Dame, South Carolina and Kentucky.
Georgia State coach Trent Miles also has hired former Tulane offensive line coach John McDonell as senior offensive analyst.
McDonell, who coached four years at Tulane, also has worked at Washington State, Stanford, Notre Dame and Purdue.
