ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia coach Mark Richt has hired Thomas Brown as running backs coach, the school said in a statement Monday.
Former running backs coach Bryan McClendon will now coach receivers.
Brown, who worked with 2014 Heisman Trophy runner-up Melvin Gordon at Wisconsin last season, was a teammate of McClendon on Georgia's 2005 Southeastern Conference title team.
Richt added that McClendon will also serve as passing game coordinator under new offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
Brown, who finished his Bulldogs career as the fifth-leading rusher in school history, worked as running backs coach at Marshall in 2014 and Tennessee-Chattanooga in 2013.
McClendon has been Georgia's running backs coach since 2009.
