The game between No. 15 Texas and BYU began after a nearly two-hour lightning delay on Saturday night.
A steady rain fell as the Longhorns and Cougars came out of the locker room to warm up for a game that was scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. MT. By kickoff, the sky remained overcast, but the rain stopped.
About an hour before the contest was supposed to start, a storm rolled through the area, complete with a whipping wind and pounding rain. Later, lightning flashes began appearing near the stadium along with claps of thunder. Fans were told to leave their seats in the stadium.
Last week, BYU had its season opener in Virginia delayed for more than two hours by weather.
