KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Larry Scott, who served as Miami's interim head coach for the final six games this season, has agreed in principle to become Tennessee's tight ends coach.

Tennessee announced the addition of Scott on Monday. Scott replaces Mark Elder, now the head coach at Eastern Kentucky.

Scott joined Miami's staff as a tight ends coach in 2013. He became interim head coach in October after Al Golden was fired. Miami went 4-2 in Scott's six games. Miami has selected former Georgia coach Mark Richt as its new head coach.

Tennessee coach Butch Jones said in a statement that ''I think the way Miami finished the season under his guidance speaks volumes to his leadership skills.''
