Following new commitment, LSU moves up to the No. 1 recruiting class


The LSU Tigers have been a force on the recruiting trail of late signing one elite prospect after another in recent weeks. The team's latest commitment comes from Eric Monroe, the number two rated safety in the nation, according to 247 Sports.
A native of Houston, Monroe becomes the third Texan to commit to the Tigers in less than a week and the fourth Lone Star State native overall in the team's 2016 recruiting class.
With the addition of Monroe, LSU jumps Florida State to claim the number one recruiting class in the nation, going by 247 Sports' ranking system. The Tigers currently have 17 prospects committed to the class, 12 of which are rated as four or five-star prospects.
LSU now have five highly regarded defensive back prospects committed to the Bayou. It's safe to assume the coaches are doing their part in order to keep the talent in place to continue the tradition of DBU.
