Florida tight end McGee recognized as Mackey Award Semifinalist
One of Florida's focal points in the passing game this year, tight Jake McGee is also garnering national recognition.
On Monday, the sixth-year transfer from Virginia was named as a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award -- given to the nation's top tight end.
McGee has truly given Florida an added dimension from within its passing game. Often targeted on third-down and red-zone situations, McGee is tied for the team-lead with three receiving touchdowns. He's also managed to accrue 31 catches for 268 yards.
Two other SEC tight ends -- Hunter Henry of Arkansas and O.J. Howard of Alabama -- also made the list featuring the eight semifinalists.
