The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is being bought by ESPN.
Bowl officials said in a statement Wednesday that the network had agreed in principle to acquire the bowl game from the Humanitarian Bowl Inc. Details of the deal were not released. The Potato Bowl would be the eighth bowl game to be owned and operated by ESPN.
The game features teams from the Mid-American Conference and the Mountain West Conference. It is played at Bronco Stadium on the Boise State campus.
The 17th annual game will be played Dec. 21.
