Down 20-6 halfway through the second quarter on Saturday night in Eugene, the Ducks decided to make a change at quarterback against Utah.
Vernon Adams Jr., who had started the game for the Ducks despite a broken right index finger, couldn't get much going in the first half and went 2/7 for 26 yards and a touchdown before being pulled.
.@MollyMcGrathFS1 relayed on air that Helfrich told her Vernon Adams was pulled due to poor execution, not injury.

Jeff Lockie, Adams' backup, was called upon to replace Adams. On his first drive, Lockie was 4/5 for 50 yards and a touchdown. Last week in his first career start, Lockie was 23-of-31 for 228 yards and two touchdowns.
