Down to two? Shavar Manuel split between Florida and FSU
With only one day left until National Signing Day, elite defensive lineman prospect Shavar Manuel appears to be split on where he will eventually sign. The current Florida commit has received the full court press from rival Florida State with signing day looming on the horizon.
A 2016 Under Armour All-American, Manuel is rated as a four-star prospect and one of the nation's top 10 defensive tackle prospects in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. Manuel took an official visit to Gainesville Jan. 22 and another one to Tallahassee Jan. 29.
Losing Manuel would be particularly bad for the Gators, as he is currently the only defensive tackle committed in the 2016 Florida class. While he isn't yet ready to announce his final decision, Manuel has told Scout the decision has already been made and "It won't be a hard decision at all," according to Manuel.
What that means won't be clear until National Signing Day, however Manuel recently committed to Florida however he grew up as a Florida State fan. Stay tuned to see where he eventually signs.
