The Tigers would go on to score two more touchdowns in the first quarter, one of which came off an ensuing kickoff when an S.C. State player did not take a knee in the end zone and tossed the ball on the ground. Clemson football recovered and that put the Tigers up 28-0 with 3:18 left.

That is when Dabo and the Tigers called off the dogs.

Clemson football played several different players- including two, three deep and walk-ons- throughout the first and second half in an effort to get players experience and preserve the starters’ legs.

In limited time, Deshaun Watson completed 12-of-15 passes for 152 yards and three touchdowns.

Freshman Tavien Feaster led the Tigers in rushing with 12 attempts for 83 yards and a touchdown while Ray Ray McCloud had four catches for 60 yards and two touchdowns.

The Tiger defense pitched a shutout and held S.C. State to just 102 yards of total offense, while forcing two turnovers.

Clemson football will turn their attention fully to Georgia Tech. The Tigers have already been preparing for the Yellow Jackets- who defeated Vanderbilt with ease on Saturday- and will look to finish their game planning for the match-up on Thursday.

Clemson will look to pick up a victory in Atlanta in Bobby Dodd Stadium for the first time since 2003.
