Chris Ash adds high school coach to Rutgers staff
Rutgers football coach Chris Ash announced the addition of another member of his first Scarlet Knights staff Wednesday: Rick Mantz.
Mantz, a high school coach for in New Jersey, is a Rutgers graduate and was a graduate assistant for the Scarlet Knights in 1990-91.
Since then he has coached at Hillsborough High School, Passaic High School and South Brunswick High School.
He will have the title "director of high school relations," and Ash called Mantz a well-respected and successful high school coach" in a statement from the school.
"He has great connections with coaches and players throughout one of the most talent-rich states in college football," Ash said.
Former Knights Mantz coached at the high school level include Shaun O'Hara and Mohamed Sanu.
