Breaking: Perine's biceps are real, and they are spectacular

Published Jun. 4, 2015 12:48 p.m. ET

Everybody knows Oklahoma Sooners running back Samaje Perine is built like a tank. At 5-foot-11 and listed at 237 pounds, his powerful burst is a thing of beauty to everybody but opposing tacklers.

But maybe you chalked up his strength and power to his massive, churning legs that helped him break the NCAA single-game rushing record when he pulverized Kansas for 427 yards.

Well, it's time to give Perine's arms their just due, and specifically the sophomore-to-be's behemoth biceps.

The Oklahoma football Twitter account wanted to make this point perfectly clear by posting this picture of Perine showcasing his mountain range of muscles.

Yes, they are real and they are spectacular.

After his breakout season as a true freshman, Perine will be the focal point of an Oklahoma offense that is transitioning to new offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley's Air Raid scheme.

Don't let the name fool you, Riley plans to use Perine in heavy doses, and even more so now that Keith Ford, last season's starter until his season ended prematurely due to a knee injury, is transferring to Texas A&M.

So just how strong is Perine? Just ask teammate Alex Ross.

"Summer workouts, basically, anything you put on the bar, he could do. With ease," Ross said. One afternoon, he was doing incline bench and coach was scratching his head putting weight on there. He can do any of the weight. It doesn't even matter. It's crazy."
