Published Nov. 2, 2015 4:16 p.m. ET

William Likely continues to be a bright spot in a tough Maryland football season, and he was named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.

The junior cornerback from Belle Glade, Fla., returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown Saturday as the Terrapins lost 31-15 at Iowa, the second 100-yard kickoff return of Likely's career.

Likely was also named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week after the first game of the season when he broke the conference record for total punt return yards in a game with 233. He also returned a punt for a touchdown that day as the Terps beat Richmond.

He returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown last season against Stanford.
