Auburn's over/under win total opens at 8.5
Fan expectations will be high for the Auburn Tigers in 2015 and the gambling experts backup that faith by opening the Tigers over/under win total at 8.5, according to 5Dimes.
The Tigers won eight games last season despite splitting their SEC games and firing their defensive coordinator. With former Gators' head coach Will Muschamp now calling the shots on defense, it's safe to assume the Tigers will take a step forward on defense.
How Gus Malzahn's offense replaces eight starters, including quarterback Nick Marshall, may hold the key to the season. Regardless of how hyped Jeremy Johnson leading into the season, his performance as the starter and leader of the team is unknown. In addition the Tigers are expecting to break in several new offensive linemen this season. However, judging by Malzahn's past, the offense should be firing on all cylinders by season's end.
Other opening odds for the Auburn Tigers include:
Odds at winning the National Championship: +1700
Odds at making the College Football Playoff: +275
Auburn opens as a 1-point underdog on the road vs. LSU on Sept. 19
Auburn opens as a 2-point underdog at home vs. Alabama on Nov. 28
