As camp nears, projecting Texas' 2015 starters can begin

With summer here and the countdown to the start of camp officially on, it's time to start analyzing the potential starting lineup the Texas Longhorns put on the field on Sept. 5 when they open the 2015 season at Notre Dame.
The most obvious unsettled position is quarterback where coach Charlie Strong will have to make a decision between incumbent Tyrone Swoopes and redshirt freshman Jerrod Heard.
But quarterback is hardly the only position where starting jobs are seemingly up for grabs, or maybe better put, positions where the coaching staff is hopeful someone will simply grab the position and make the decision for them.
Offense, as expected, after last season's ineptness, has multiple position question marks. Bleacher Report took a look at positions on both sides of the ball that yet to have a definitive starter. Here's a sampling:
Wide receiver: This has to be one of the most intriguing areas on the team because all of last season's top targets are gone. But it's not like there isn't talent, it's just there is very little experience and no one jumps out as a go-to guy, at least not yet. Players that will compete to get on the field first include seniors Marcus Johnson and Daje Johnson, junior Jacorey Warrick and then a group of sophomores, redshirt freshmen and even true freshmen. That group includes Armanti Foreman, Lorenzo Joe, Ryan Newsome and John Burt.
Right tackle: The 2014 offensive line was a mess after suspensions and injuries demolished depth and ruined any continuity. There will be changes this season, and Strong's 2015 recruiting class could get the nod here with right tackle Connor Williams having already earned the right to start at in the spring game. He shows all the signs of becoming a rising star on the offensive line.
Linebacker: Another position that should excite Longhorns fans despite the loss of two quality players is linebacker. The prize of Strong's recruiting class was five-star linebacker and potential game-changer Malik Jefferson, who might not allow Strong to keep him off the field. Redshirt freshman Edwin Freeman also has the potential to become a household name. Those two will have a couple of experienced hands to lean on in Dalton Santos and Peter Jinkens. But how Strong and defensive coordinator Vance Bedford choose the starting trio should be interesting.
