Anu Solomon a Heisman Trophy candidate in 2015?
Anu Solomon's sophomore season was sensational. He threw for an impressive 3,793 yards with 28 touchdowns against nine interceptions.
He's Rich Rodriguez's first returning starting quarterback as Rodriguez enters his fourth season at the helm. In addition to the impressive stats, what helped Solomon stand out against the rest of the sophomores last season was his poise in the pocket. It's probably why NFL.com's Mike Huguenin thinks Solomon is a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate in 2015.
"Solomon won Arizona's quarterback battle as a redshirt freshman, then turned in a big season, with 4,084 yards of total offense," Huguenin writes. "Expect him to be more of a running threat this fall, but his passing ability will remain the strong suit of his game. He threw for 3,793 yards and 28 TDs last season, and should improve on both numbers."
There are 15 players on Huguenin's list, and for what it's worth, only two hail from the Pac-12.
