COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) Texas A&M redshirt freshman receiver Ricky Seals-Jones is free on bond after his arrest for what police said was a challenge to another man to fight.

KBTX-TV (http://bit.ly/1fYKDNE) of Bryan-College Station reports the incident happened about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at a bar in the Northgate District entertainment area just off the A&M campus.

A police statement said Seals-Jones was being ''carried away by his friends'' from the bar when an officer saw another person bump into the player. The officer says the two exchanged heated words until Seals-Jones broke free from his friends and obscenely challenged the other person to fight. The officer said he immediately arrested Seals-Jones on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge.

Aggies spokesman Alan Cannon said the athletic department is investigating.
