CLEVELAND (AP) Matt Donlan scored 16 points and Youngstown State topped Cleveland State 70-55 on Sunday.
Donlan was 6 of 11 from the floor with four 3-pointers for the Penguins (8-13, 3-5 Horizon). Cameron Morse scored 14 points, hitting 9 of 11 from the line, and Francisco Santiago had 12 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Cleveland State (7-14, 2-6) was led by Demonte Flannigan with 18 points. Rob Edwards added 16 points for the Vikings.
The Penguins took over a close game midway through the second half with an 11-0 run - capped by a 3-pointer from Morse - that spanned 4:54 and made it 58-42. Cleveland State was 0 for 5 and had four turnovers in the stretch.
The Vikings got the deficit to nine with 1:34 left, but Brett Franz responded with a 3 to quash any ideas of a late comeback.
