Yale 82, Holy Cross 67
Greg Mangano scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Yale defeated Holy Cross 82-67 Tuesday night.
After Holy Cross had cut a 53-35 Yale lead to four points, 63-59, with 8:14 to play, the senior center scored the next three baskets for the Bulldogs (9-4), starting them on a 14-4 run to a 77-63 lead with 3:38 left. Sam Martin had a pair of 3-pointers for Yale in that run.
Yale, which led 41-28 at halftime, shot 56.6 percent (30 of 53) in the game to 36.9 percent (24 of 65) for the Crusaders (6-8) and outrebounded them 44-25. But Yale committed 18 turnovers to just nine for Holy Cross.
Mangano, the Ivy League's Player of the Week, recorded his sixth double-double this season, and Yale got 10 points each from Reggie Willhite and Isaiah Salafia.
R.J. Evans scored 24 points and Devin Brown 22 to lead Holy Cross.
