Wofford rallies to beat Samford 72-62

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) Karl Cochran scored 17 points, Spencer Collins added 16 - 12 in the second half - and Wofford rallied to beat Samford 72-62 on Saturday.

Justin Gordon scored 13, Lee Skinner added 12, and the Terriers (13-4, 4-0) outshot the Bulldogs 59.1 percent to 45.5 percent and outrebounded them 27-22.

Samford led 16-8 after a jumper by Michael Bradley, but Wofford tied it at 26 after Gordon made consecutive layups. Jamal Shabazz hit a 3-pointer and Samford led 32-31 at halftime.

Wofford pulled ahead 45-41 on a 3 and a layup by Cochran early in the second half, but Samford stayed close until Wofford ripped a 15-5 run in which Collins scored 10 to lead 67-55 with 1:10 left. Wofford outscored Samford 8-5 down the stretch.

Darius Jones-Gibson scored 16 for Samford (7-12, 0-6). Christen Cunningham had 13 and Taylor 12.
