Ricky Franklin scored 20 points to lead Wisconsin-Milwaukee past Southern Illinois-Edwardsville 83-73 Tuesday night.

Ja'Rob McCallum had 19 points and Jason Averkamp 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Panthers (9-7), who held a 48-29 edge in rebounds in the game.

Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (2-13) had four players in double figures. Aamir McCleary led the Cougars with 18 points and 10 assists. Mark Yelovich scored 17, Denykco Bowles 11 and Nikola Bundalo 10.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee led 39-30 at halftime and pulled away with a 16-0 run in the second half, leading by 23 points at one time. The Cougars made it closer with a 17-2 run but only came as close as an eight-point deficit.
