Winthrop dominates Longwood 76-59

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) Joab Jerome scored 18 points and made all of his four 3-point attempts as Winthrop cruised to a 76-59 win over Longwood on Wednesday.

Keon Moore made just 2 of 11 from long range but still finished with 14 points as Winthrop (14-10, 7-4 Big South) won its fourth straight game.

Winthrop scored the first nine points of the game and pushed its lead to 43-25 at halftime after forcing 10 Longwood turnovers. The Eagles made 16 of 28 shots in the opening 20 minutes.

Jeylani Dublin led Longwood (7-19, 2-9) with 15 points, Tristan Carey had 11 and Lucas Woodhouse added 10. Carey, averaging 18.6 points per game, was just 5 of 14 from the field. The Lancers have now lost five consecutive contests.

The game was originally schedule for 7 p.m. EST but was changed to 4 p.m. due to winter weather conditions.
