HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) Marcus Thornton scored 26 Sunday as William & Mary escaped a wild finish at James Madison 81-79.

Omar Prewitt's free throws put the Tribe up 81-77 with 7 seconds left, and then Thornton fouled Ron Curry 4 seconds later on a 3-point attempt for JMU.

Curry made the first two and missed the third on purpose. Andrey Semenov grabbed the rebound and got a shot off at the buzzer, but it fell short and the Tribe hung on for the win.
