Brandon Britt and Marcus Thornton scored 16 points apiece to lead William & Mary over James Madison 68-61 on Wednesday night as the Tribe won their first Colonial Athletic Association game of the season.

Quinn McDowell added 14 points and Kendrix Brown pulled down 10 boards for the Tribe (3-12, 1-2), who snapped a four-game losing skid with the win.

The Tribe led nearly the entire way, including a 32-24 margin at the break, but the Dukes pulled ahead 46-45 on Humpty Hitchens' 3-pointer with 9:16 remaining in the game.

It would be a short-lived lead for James Madison as Britt answered with a jumper, starting a 10-1 Tribe run. They led for the rest of the game.
