Wiggins scores 32, leads PSU over SIUE 90-87, OT

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) DaShaun Wiggins scored a career-high 32 points and gave Portland State its first overtime lead in in a 90-87 victory over SIU-Edwardsville on Monday night.

Wiggins' three-point play with 1:21 left put the Vikings (3-0) ahead for good at 87-84. Tiegbe Bamba extended the lead on 1 of 2 free throws with 29 seconds left.

Donivine Stewart scored and drew a foul with 23 seconds left for SIUE (1-3). He missed the free throw, but Keenan Simmons got the offensive rebound and Stewart went back to the line, making 1 of 2 to cut the deficit to one.

Tim Douglas made both free throws for PSU with 8 seconds left and Stewart missed a difficult 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Douglas had 17 points and Braxton Tucker added 13 points and nine rebounds.

Kris Davis had 25 points, Keaton Jackson scored 16 and Michael Messer added 10 for the Cougars.
