Wichita St. 68, Creighton 54
Toure Murry's double-double led the way as Wichita State beat Creighton 68-54 on Wednesday night.
Murry finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Shockers (14-3, 5-1 Missouri Valley), who are tied for second with Indiana State behind Missouri State. J.T. Durley scored 15 points and David Kyles 13, including three 3-pointers.
Gregory Echenique scored 12 points to lead the Bluejays (12-6, 4-2), whose two-game winning streak was snapped. Doug McDermott hauled down a game-best 11 rebounds, and Antoine Young had a game-high four assists.
Wichita State outshot Creighton 45.3 percent (24 of 53) to 40.0 percent (18 of 45) and outrebounded the Bluejays 38-27.
Kyles put Wichita State ahead to stay by draining a 3-pointer to make it 44-41 with 11:11 to play. That finished a 9-0 run.
The lead reached double figures at 61-50 on two free throws by Murry with 3:15 left.
