Ben Smith and Garrett Stutz scored 16 points apiece to lead Wichita State to a 102-53 victory against crosstown school Newman on Monday night.
Demetric Williams added 12 points, Joe Ragland 11 and Carl Hall 10 for the Shockers (9-2). All 12 Wichita State players who saw action scored.
Eric Saunders led the Division II Jets (8-3) with 14 points.
The taller, more athletic Shockers frustrated Newman with a full-court press, which sparked a 30-10 run to end the first half. Wichita State led 53-29 at the break.
