Western Michigan knocks off Pacific 80-72

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) Connar Tava scored 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting to lead Western Michigan over Pacific 80-72 on Sunday night.

The Broncos (6-3) shot 56 percent from the floor, including 8 of 19 from beyond the arc. David Brown scored 16 points and Austin Richie added 14.

Western Michigan built a 39-35 lead at the break shooting 54 percent in the half as Thomas Wilder hit 4 of 5 for all of his eight points in the game.

Pacific (6-4) tied it at 66 with 4:52 left after a 9-0 run, but Tava made a pair from the line, then Brown did the same before making a pair of 3-pointers to put the Tigers back up by six. Richie made 4 of 4 at the line inside 30 seconds to ice it.

Dulani Robinson led Pacific with 23 points, including five 3-pointers. T.J. Wallace added 15 points and David Taylor had 11.
