Alex Ruoff scored 20 points to lead five West Virginia players in double figures as the Mountaineers rolled past DePaul 82-63 on Wednesday night. West Virginia (21-9, 10-7 Big East) got the win despite a huge effort from DePaul's Will Walker, who hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 31 points. The Mountaineers never trailed, and built a lead as large as 15 points in the first half before Walker led the Blue Demons (8-22, 0-17) back into the game. West Virginia clinched a first-round bye in next week's Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden. The Mountaineers have not lost a game this season in which they scored at least 70 points. DePaul plays at Georgetown on Saturday. If the Blue Demons lose that game, they will become the first Big East team since Miami in 1994 to finish the season without a league win.
