TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) Quinndary Weatherspoon scored 15 points and Mississippi State beat Alabama 67-61 Saturday for the Bulldogs' second-straight Southeastern Conference upset.

Weatherspoon played a pivotal role in both of the week's wins. The Bulldogs (12-14, 5-9 SEC) fought off a second-half rally by the Crimson Tide (16-10, 7-7), which had won five straight league games to shoulder its way squarely into the NCAA Tournament conversation.

Weatherspoon, who had 24 points and the game-winning 3-pointer in Tuesday night's victory over Vanderbilt, made 3 of 4 from long range to help end that hot streak.

Craig Sword scored 13 points and Gavin Ware fought through foul trouble for 12. Guard I.J. Ready had 10 points while subbing for an injured Malik Newman.
