Klay Thompson scored 16 points and Washington State scored the game's first 27 points on the way to an easy 84-36 victory over Sacramento State on Tuesday night.
Sacramento State didn't score until Antoine Proctor made a layup with 10:03 left in the first half. By then, the game had been out of hand for awhile.
It didn't get much better for Sacramento State as Washington State took a 41-8 lead before settling for a 47-17 halftime lead. The Cougars (5-0) held the Hornets (2-4) to 27 percent shooting in the half and 32 for the game.
Brock Motum scored 11 points and Faisal Aden had 11 points and three steals for Washington State.
Sacramento State, which didn't reach the 27-point mark until 9 minutes remained in the game, was just 1-for-15 from 3-point range and 5-for-14 from the free-throw line.
