C.J. Wilcox made five 3-pointers on his way to 19 points, and Washington bounced back from a bad road debut with an 88-65 win Friday over Houston Baptist.

Terrence Ross added 13 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks for Washington (5-1).

Washington slogged through a sloppy first 10 minutes before using a 21-1 run late in the first half to start pulling away. Wilcox scored 11 in the first half, then let his teammates help out in the final 20 minutes. Tony Wroten scored 14 off the bench, including a fastbreak layup where he faked passing behind his back before a finger roll off the glass.

Coming off a five-point win over Cal State-Fullerton on Saturday, Houston Baptist (2-4) struggled against Washington's athleticism and defensive pressure. Washington forced 21 turnovers and held HBU to 32 percent shooting. Marcus Davis led HBU with a career-high 20 points and 14 rebounds.
