Walkup's triple-double leads Stephen F. Austin by UIW 84-58
SAN ANTONIO (AP) Thomas Walkup recorded a triple-double with 10:22 remaining - Stephen F. Austin's first since Pete Harris on Feb. 26, 1973 - and the Lumberjacks beat Incarnate Word 84-58 on Monday night to extend the nation's longest winning streak to 16 games.
Walkup had a double-double in the first half with 10 points and 10 rebounds as SFA held a 42-25 lead after Demetrious Floyd hit a deep 3-pointer at the buzzer. It was Walkup's eighth double-double of the season and 16th of his career.
SFA opened the second half on a 14-5 run to take a 56-30 lead.
Walkup finished with 12 points, a career-high 15 rebounds, 10 assists and five steals for Stephen F. Austin (23-5, 16-0 Southland), which is 5-0 all-time in the series.
Mitchell Badillo scored 15 points for Incarnate Word (15-12, 10-6). The Cardinals had 19 made field goals and 16 turnovers.
