Walker has double-double, Samford beats Bethune-Cookman

HOMEWOOD, Ala. (AP) Wyatt Walker had 19 points and 15 rebounds to lead Samford to a 93-65 rout over Bethune-Cookman on Saturday night.

Walker entered the game averaging 13.5 points and 14 rebounds in four straight road games.

The Wildcats were up 3-2 and 5-4 on a 3 and a jumper by Brandon Tabb - Bethune-Cookman's only leads of the game. Walker made a layup and Alex Thompson made a shot to put Samford up 12-7 with 14:25 to go before halftime.

That started a 15-5 Bulldogs run in which Demetrius Denzel-Dyson made a layup and hit two 3s to make it 27-12 with 8:49 left before the break. Samford went on to outscore Bethune-Cookman 22-15 before halftime.

Thompson's layup in the second with 15:13 to go put the Bulldogs up 66-36.

Tabb led the Wildcats with 24 points and Reggie Baker added 13.
