Wake Forest junior center Tony Woods has
been granted his release from the men's basketball program.

Woods was suspended indefinitely on September 13 after being arrested on
assault charges. He requested his release to pursue other options.

"We wish Tony the best of luck in all his future endeavors," said head coach
Jeff Bzdelik. "Tony and I met a number of times and we felt this was the best
course of action for him."

Woods played in all 31 games last season as Wake Forest compiled a 20-11
record and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He averaged 4.6
points and 3.2 rebounds.
