Wagner 52, Hofstra 44
Kenneth Ortiz scored 15 points, Mario Moody had 12 and Wagner came back to beat Hofstra 52-44 on Tuesday.
Taran Buie led Hofstra (3-6) with 16 points.
After trailing 24-19 at halftime, Wagner (3-4) opened the second half with a 14-5 run, taking a 34-29 lead on Orlando Parker's three-point play with 11:38 left. Taran Buie's three-point play and 3-point shot pulled Hofstra to 36-35 at the 10:16 mark. Parker made a pair of free-throws to lead 38-35, and the Pride's Matt Grogan's free throw was the only point for the next 4:58.
Buie's foul shots with 2:56 left closed the gap to 44-41, but Wagner's Kenneth Ortiz made two baskets and two free throws to put the game away for the Seahawks, who won their second game in a row against the Pride.
Hofstra, 8 of 19 at the foul line, lost its fourth in a row.
The Pride played their second straight game without four players - sophomore Shaquille Stokes and freshmen Kentrell Washington, Jimmy Hall and Dallas Anglin - who were suspended from all university activities following their arrests last Friday on dormitory burglary charges.
