W. Kentucky 73, Middle Tennessee 67
T.J. Price scored 13 points and Western Kentucky snapped a five-game losing streak against Middle Tennessee with a 73-67 win on Saturday night in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Middle Tennessee led by three at halftime and game was tied 53-53 with 7:09 to play when the Hilltoppers went on an 11-0 run. Two free throws by Derrick Gordon with 4:43 remaining gave Western Kentucky a 64-53 lead.
The Blue Raiders cut the deficit to 69-67 with 22 seconds left before Western Kentucky got two free throws from Gordon and a basket by Khalil McDonald to seal it.
Teeng Akol added 12 points, Gordon had 11 and McDonald 10 for the Hilltoppers (11-18, 7-9 Sun Belt Conference), who have won two straight.
LaRon Dendy scored 18 points, Raymond Cintron added 15 and Marcos Knight had 13 for the Blue Raiders (25-5, 14-2), who saw a four-game winning streak end.
