BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) QJ Peterson scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds and clinched VMI's 76-75 win over Gardner-Webb by knocking down 3 of 4 from the line in the final minute Monday night.

It was the first road win for the Keydets (4-6) in six games.

Adonis Burbage connected on a 3-pointer to cut the VMI lead to a point with :11 remaining, but Harold McBride's layup with :02 left would not fall and Burbage grabbed the offensive rebound but could not launch a shot as time expired.

Trey Chapman and Julian Eleby scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, to lead VMI, which shot 28 of 64 from the floor (43.8 percent), including 8 of 27 from long range.
