Evan Fjeld scored 15 points and Vermont scored the final four points of the game to take a 51-48 victory over Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday night.

Loyola took a 48-47 lead on Jamal Barney's layup with 2:37 remaining, but that was the last time the Greyhounds scored.

Vermont's Joey Accaoui hit two free throws for a 49-48 lead with 1:49 left and Simeon Marsalis added two with 11 seconds left for the final margin.

Barney missed a 3-point attempt with 5 seconds to play.

Vermont (3-1) overcame 20 turnovers by shooting 55 percent from the field (11 of 20) in the second half and outrebounding the Greyhounds 42-33 in the game to win its home opener.

Fjeld was 6 for 9 from the field and added seven rebounds.

Barney finished with nine points and Erik Etherly had 13 rebounds for the Greyhounds (2-2), who shot 32.2 percent from the field (21 of 65).
