VCU rallies to beat St. Bonaventure 84-76

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) JeQuan Lewis scored 26 points with seven assists and VCU rallied late to beat St. Bonaventure 84-76 on Sunday to win its 10th straight and remain unbeaten in Atlantic 10 Conference play.

Melvin Johnson scored 21 points, Justin Tillman added 17 and Mo Alie-Cox had 10 for the Rams (15-5, 7-0), who made 18 of 30 free throws.

Up by one at halftime, the Bonnies pulled ahead on a 16-8 run and led 50-41 after Marcus Posley's free throw with 13:32 left.

VCU rallied to within 55-54 on Johnson's 3-pointer, led 61-60 on Alie-Cox's putback that capped a 7-0 run and pulled away 71-65 on Tillman's layup with 3:07 left.

The Rams scored nine unanswered points for an 80-67 lead and the Bonnies got no closer than six the rest of the way.

Posley scored 30 points for the Bonnies (12-6, 4-3). Dion Wright added 18 points with 13 rebounds for his conference-leading eighth double-double of the season.
