Troy Daniels scored 15 points off the bench to lead Virginia Commonwealth past Hofstra 80-63 on Monday night for the Rams' eighth straight win.

Daniels was 4 of 5 from beyond the arc in the first half to pace VCU (11-3, 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association) to a 41-30 halftime lead.

The Pride (6-8, 0-2) could get no closer than 13 points in the second half, snapping a three-game winning streak.

VCU, coming off a 76-75 overtime win over Akron, has won the other seven games in its winning streak by double digits. The Rams nearly matched their average margin of victory of 16.4 points.

Darius Theus added 14 points for VCU and Juvonte Reddic and Briante Weber had 12 apiece. Weber also had five steals as VCU forced 21 Hofstra turnovers.

Mike Moore led the Pride with 14 points on 4-of-14 shooting and Shemiye McLendon had 13 points.
